Business mogul by day and Wonder Woman by night, Beth Steele began her infatuation with juicy burgers and beer early on with an annoying habit of customizing her burgers at every restaurant she visited. Many times, the burger would leave her disappointed. The years passed and Beth continued the pattern of eating the unsatisfying, overly modified burgers. That changed in November 2012 while on a long walk with her dogs George and Bebe around Downtown Orlando she stumbled across the perfect location. At that very instant Beth’s entrepreneurial spirit kick in. Beth's Burger Bar was born. Her vision was to create a restaurant that boasted a highly customizable build-a-burger menu, fridges overstocked with dozens of domestic and imported beers and several wines. With a plethora of board games, live music, bingo nights, beer pong and daily food and drink specials. Beth's Burger Bar aims to satisfy the adult the kid inside each of us.
An entrepreneur for many years in the corporate world Beth knew what the demands of a restaurant would be, what she didn’t see was the great reward she is reaping now. When she opened in December 2012 Beth spent her New Years eve serving hungry and possibly drunk locals until the early morning hours into the new year and it has been a joyful ride every since. She is a self-proclaimed workaholic and can often be found behind the register until the early morning hours or at least until the line around the building goes down (and the line is a very common thing to see).
One of only a handful of women business owners in downtown Orlando, Beth prides herself on the hard work and dedication she puts into her employees and EVERY burger and it is not going unnoticed, she is in the process of opening her 2nd location in Orlando and social media is buzzing, not only about the award winning food but the environment too! There is something to be said about a small business owner; we all know they put pour their life into their work and Beth is no exception. She has seemed to find the perfect balance of catering to the business professionals during the day, families and locals on the weekends and the late night partiers looking for an after midnight meal and we thank her!
1. What makes Beth Burgers stand out amongst all the burgers in the world?
It's all in how they are served and how they taste... Our servers are trained that OUTSTANDING cheerful service is key to priming our customers appetite for the fresh quality food that they are about to receive, and then the follow through making sure each customer leaves content. There is a lot of love and thought in our product
2. As an Entrepreneur in the restaurant industry, what does it take to build a successful business?
As in Answer #1, Hardworking positive staff and the desire to always make the customer happy. Then marketing, marketing, marketing!!! – She proves this by the large “Beth’s Burger Bar” marquee on the back of her Mercedes
3. What are the biggest challenges you face in day-to-day business?
We always try to arm ourselves for the things that we can't control, yet sometimes-new things arise that we have to cop on the chin, we always roll with the punches. Also making sure you cater to every different want and need.
